We bid goodbye to

Great Britain Day 23 - Friday, 30 May
1997
You can only have fun just so long, then you need to rest. And we
missed our kitties. So on Friday when it was time to catch the bus to the
airport, we hefted our bags onto our backs and walked the block and a half to
the bus station. The bus took us by what seemed a meandering route to the
airport. There our luggage was opened and thoroughly searched. Next time, we'll
make sure our checked luggage has no hairdryers or radios or anything that when
x-rayed, makes them want to look.
Our return trip was not in Upper Class, unfortunately, but it was
still very nice. It was, after all, still Virgin Atlantic. In San Francisco, we
had to pass through customs, not a fun thing to do, long lines. Then we caught
SamTrans to BART, and BART to Amtrak, and Amtrak to our little town. Our
neighbor Ken came and collected us from the Amtrak station and we were home
again. Cookie and Scratches were two very happy kitties.
It took a few days to get rested up, but I think we're about ready
to start planning our next trip.
